Catch Up

First off, sorry that I haven't been posting much lately.  Also sorry to anyone who's blog I normally read and comment on.  I have been super crazy busy with life and work lately (yes I've even been working from home on quite a few evenings) which hasn't left much "me" time.  Also, since blogger decided to "upgrade" I haven't had a chance to check out the changes and just figured out today how to find my list of blogs I follow so I can see who has blogged recently.  I will try to catch up on everyone's stuff soon.  I promise.  And I also promise to blog with pictures and such as soon as I find some time to get Jay's pictures off his phone (since that seems to be where all our pictures end up these days).

So to tide you over, here are some random thoughts from me.  Sorry Erin, this is probably the only one I'm going to get done this weekend :P

1. Life has been marching on and I can't believe we're already at the end of April!  It's going to be Christmas again before I know it!

2. I've somehow turned into the Mom that decorates for every holiday.  I'm not sure how it happened since my own Mom doesn't do that, but I think Jay's kind of happy that Easter's over so we don't have anything to decorate for until Halloween.  I haven't quite come around to the idea of decorating for Canada Day yet, but will probably have to find Paxton a shirt for it :)

3. Thanks to Yummy Mummy Shoes, I seem to have developed a shoe addiction (and the purse addiction isn't far behind).  Tisha and Jessica seem to be more than happy to fuel said addiction for me :)  I ended up with 3 new pairs of shoes yesterday even though I only went to buy 2 and if I'd had more cash on me I probably would have ended up with more!
Zebra wedges. I was so excited to snag these ones.  They sold out super quick!
Yellow wedges.  These are seriously some of the most comfy shoes I've ever worn!  And they're super cute to boot :)
Brown wedges.  Same as the yellow ones, but really how could I pass them  up?  And they will go with so many outfits!

4. Did you know that a dog barrier for an SUV makes a fantastic shoe rack?  Well it does.
Ya, so about that shoe addiction ...

5. One more about shoes.  Jay hates pretty much all of my new shoes because most of them are heels and make me a lot taller than him when I wear them (we're pretty much the same height).  So I'm only "allowed" to wear my shoes for work or if I'm going somewhere without him or else I have to listen to Jay whining about it.  *sigh*

6. I'm still on the wagon.  I had a bit of a binge last weekend because it was Jodie's birthday (I'm pretty sure I ate like 10 lemon tarts along with other delicious food).  But I smartened up and re-lost the few pounds I gained over the weekend this week and I'm back to 41 pounds down.  I will post new pics once I get Jay to take some for me.  I don't think I've really changed too much in the last month, but other people seem to.

7. With the warmer weather I'm finding it slightly more difficult to stick to the healthy eating since we all know that warm weather means BBQ.  Jay loves to bbq and especially loves things like steak and hamburgers.  And then we need to have potato salad, or pasta salad or potato chips or any other number of calorie-laden sides to go with!  *sigh*  It's going to be a long summer filled with me reminding myself that I don't need another helping of whatever.  I've stuck with it this long so I'm not giving up now!

8. Paxton has entered a super lovey phase.  He loves pretty much everything.  The other day as we were leaving the house in the morning he yelled, "Bye puppies!  I yuv you!"  And then as we were driving to daycare he said, "We no go store.  We go Vicki's.  I yuv it!!!"  He's a little ridiculous.

9. We've  been dog-sitting Jackie's Yorkshire Terrier, Hiro, this weekend.  Paxton knows he's not supposed to hit Hiro first because he shouldn't be hitting any dogs and second because Hiro's slightly smaller than our dogs ... ok he's a LOT smaller than our dogs, even if he is a "large breed Yorkie" at 9.6 lbs :)  Anyway, yesterday morning Paxton kept walking over to Hiro and telling me, "Hewo is Annie's.  No hit.  Nice."  And then he'd pet Hiro ever so nicely.  So sweet my boy ... when he wants to be anyway.

10. I don't know why, but "If I Die Young" by The Band Perry has been one of my favorite songs for like the last 3 months.  A little morbid if you think about it, but I just can't help loving it!  Granted, "Red Solo Cup" by Toby Keith and "King of Anything" by Sara Bareilles have been up there as well so it's not all morbid songs :)

I Love You!

Paxton can be super ridiculously cute and sweet when he wants to be.  Exhibit A:

Now if only he would want to be super ridiculously cute and sweet more often instead of having selective hearing most of the time :S

P.S.  He also gets exremely distracted when he sees us with the camera or our phones out and always wants to "watch the movie" on them when we're trying to video him.  At least my iPhone has the forward facing camera on it so I was able to catch this one :D

Hit Me!

Jay got Paxton a "bopper" bag thing about a month ago.  You know, the ones that you can kick and punch and they stand back up (or at least they used to until the barrier on the inside broke so all the "weight" now rolls around throughout the whole inside of it).  Paxton loves it.  He kicks it and punches it and throws it down the stairs and chases the dogs around with it.  The other night Jay tapped him with it, and that started off the whole episode below.  I'm fairly certain Paxton would have kept going for hours if Jay'd been up for it :)

So at this point I'm thinking Paxton could have a future with the WWE if he keeps it up.  Just a tiny bit of overacting, eh?
