Santa Visit 2011

Seeing Santa this year was quite the adventure.  Since Jackie and Cristy were going to be in Mexico for Paxton's birthday this year we decided that everyone would come over to our house prior to the trip to the mall so that Paxton could open his presents for them.  He got pretty spoiled with some clothes and noisy toys *ahem*.

After the present-opening we were off to see the fat man in red.  We were all pretty excited ... well the parents were pretty excited anyway.  And we got there just in time for Santa to take his supper break.  Awesome.  Well, since we hadn't had supper yet ourselves we headed to the food court, then did some browsing at the "As Seen on TV" store and attempted to take some pictures of the three boys together.
Seriously.  These kids are so not cooperative.  Carter loves to "hug" Paxton and Alexander.  Paxton really does not appreciate Carter's feelings and was trying to escape while we were taking pictures.  After our failed picture attempt we headed over to wait in line for Santa.  We still had about a half our before Santa would be back and the boys were ready to wait patiently ... NOT!!!  An almost 2-year-old plus 2 1-year-olds definitely does not equal a good mix for waiting.  So we took turns as parents chasing our kids and waiting in line so we'd be first when Santa finally arrived.  Paxton was pretty interested in the decorations on the trees.
And then when that got boring, Jay took him over to see the "rides."  Now, I had previously avoided these things like the plague because I knew that once Paxton had sat on them he wouldn't want to leave ... and I was right!  Especially once someone put some money in the train so that it moved.
Finally Santa showed up.  Paxton was pretty good while we waited for Carter and Alexander to have their pictures taken, but once it was his turn all he'd do was arch his back and try to get away from Santa.  Out of all the pictures they took, we ended up only having 2 poses to choose from because Paxton was blurry in all the others!  But really, for as unhappy and uncooperative as the boys were, their pictures turned out not too bad.  Oh happy memories!
